ARRL Field Day was June 26-27, 2010

ARRL Field Day is the largest on-the-air operating event in Amateur Radio. It draws tens of thousands to the airwaves each year, bringing new and experienced hams together for a weekend of fun! It is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate Amateur Radio to local elected community leaders, key individuals with the organizations that Amateur Radio might serve in an emergency, as well as the general public. The Field Day officially will begin at 2 PM on Saturday June 26 and run thru till 2 PM Sunday afternoon.

In 2010 the Cherokee Amateur Radio Society and Amateur Radio Emergency Services/Skywarn Group will be holding Field Day at the Oak Grove Community Room and surrounding grounds located at 100 Ridgemill Ct. Acworth, GA 30102 collocated with Fire Station 19 and the Sheriff's Oak Grove Precinct.

Plans are in the works to operate 3 stations, 2 HF stations and a Get On The Air (GOTA) station. We have reserved the community room for the entire weekend beginning Friday evening in order to begin some of the antenna install operations.

The event is open to all, not just licensed operators. So please plan to attend, tell your friends and neighbors that they are welcome to come and participate also.

We always have a great time with fun, fellowship and food. Don't miss this annual ARRL premier event. For the past couple of years we have had local dignitaries visit along with the news media. We have had several newspaper articles with pictures published and the highlight last year was a video piece produced by Channel 46 and run on the 11 o'clock news. You can still find it on the website.
